Considerations and suggestions:
- Please note we are somewhat limited in what the Costa Rica grocery stores offer so if you ask for brand name items, we will fill the order with the closest substitute. If you want something not on the list you will have to go to the store when you arrive.
- Advice: All imported items are fairly expensive so sticking to the Costa Rica brands can save you a ton of money
- FYI: Jaco does not carry veggie burgers! Bagels are not good in Costa Rica from the grocery stores.
- ONLY send us your shopping list 3 days before you arrive and not beforehand.
- The shopping list below usually runs around $500 to $700 for a group of 10 depending on how much beer you get as beer is expensive in Costa Rica for some reason that is not explainable.
- We will not be able to give you the exact total cost before you arrive (but the price from this app should be pretty close) because the shopping is done the day you arrive. We will adjust the amounts below according to how many are in your group. Please note if you have chefs they will go shopping for you again after they talk to you about your menu.
- The list below is for basic items only. We do not buy steaks or any kind of seafood before you arrive ... This is done ONLY by the chefs. We only buy you the basics to get you started. Chefs buy enough for the number of registered guests.
- Note: The shopping service delivers groceries as late as 4pm on the day of arrival. If you are arriving early, your groceries may not be stocked upon arrival. We will do our best to get them to you as quickly as possible
- If a food item is not on the list below it is not something we can not get for you. All items are non-returnable and non-refundable.
